Mike Dallenbach attended his first Airshow at the age of seven at New Jersey’s McGuire Air Force Base. The featured act that day was the U.S.Air Force Thunderbirds and from that day, Mike was hooked. This is where he recognized his love for airplanes, and where his devotion to Airshows began.
Pleased to find there was an Airshow in his new hometown, Punta Gorda, Mike was eager to take advantage of an opportunity to help out. First Job, delivering and setting up borrowed chairs from all over the county. Soon after, Mike started volunteering with the Airshow on the weekend of the show.
Mike received his education in New Jersey and this is also where he met his future wife, Adrienne. Married in 1981, the newlyweds moved south to sunny Southwest Florida the following year. They have been married for 34 years and have one daughter, Shannon.
Mike is the Programs Supervisor for Charlotte County Public Works and has been employed there for 34 years. He is also a former Florida Professional Emergency Manager.
Mike is a former Board Member of the “For The Love Of Kids” organization, and a current Board Member and Entertainment Director of the Punta Gorda Block Party. He is also an organizer for the Punta Gorda stop of the Redfish Cup Fishing Tournament produced by ESPN. In 2007, the Charlotte County Tourism Bureau awarded Mike the Tourism Community Service Award at their annual Tourism Unity Luncheon.
Mike has been involved as a volunteer for the Florida International Airshow for over 30 years, and has served as a board member for 10 years. His current assignment is Logistics.
